In this image Stezaker used a scenery of a river side full of rocks, trees and a bridge. This symbolises peace and order as this image has a very calm perspective to it suggesting the man is well grounded an one with nature. This image is clever as streaker very discreetly chosen an image with an arched bridge, to show that it is the outline of the mans glasses. This is very sutler but effective as the landscape lines up perfectly with the man. The slight change in colour in the middle draws the attention into the centre of the image

In this image Stezaker used two cliffs as face for the man and woman. I think that using a cliff in this picture expresses the relationship between them as love and natural beauty within the landscape, he brilliantly combines these two images making them look quite natural as they line up really well with one another leaving a clean cut impression however the fact that the two faces are cliffs suggest that they are stationary therefore with holding some kind of emotion. The minimal change in colour draws the attention into the centre of the picture.

In this image Stezaker used a coloured image over a black and white image giving you the impression that her face shows all her emotion. The coloured image on her face consists of a river with a multiple arched bridge. This image is engaging as different parts of the coloured image represents a part of her face. The arches within the bridge represents her eyes and the bricks in the middle connecting the two arches is her nose.

In this image, Jones uses a vertical tare giving the impression of anger and violence towards the subject. Jones is considering the wider issue of society and how people view themselves. This comes across in the image represented by the tear. The green contrast well with the image it stands out as a background as most backgrounds aren't normally green.
|
This image is interesting as it has one main tare down the front and two vertical tares either side however theses tares have been taped back together. It is almost as if Jones has ripped and taped back this image to portray the fact that its ok what you look like and that everyone should feel happy and secure in themselves. I like how there is no background in this image as its just a very close up profile of this women's face in order not to distract the view in any way so they are concentrating on the message behind the image.

Jones creates a surreal image by enlarging certain sections of this models face all of which include her main facial features. The colours in theses images go well together as the main colours are light pink and black which contrast nicely together. it looks as if the artist as split the models face in half suggesting that she is broken or hiding herself underneath.

In this photo Magnin used multiple triangles in order to distort this woman face. He has rotated the triangles so the identity is unrecognisable. Magnin has hidden the women's face so her identity is unknown which portrays a mysterious atmosphere. The shot was captured in black and white because this makes the distortion more effective and seem to merge together more smoothly.

This photo is effective because the man's face has been distorted by boxes in the middle and on the left of his face. The fact that the boxes don't cover the right side of his face is interesting as it shows the undistorted image, I think this is more effective than leaving them the right way up as it gives the boxes there own individual feel meaning that its loads of little photographs printed onto his face to create one surreal big image. Inside the boxes contain different facial parts that have been rotated either 90,180,360 degrees on nothing. I like this image because it hides his face but you can also see through the shapes to see the whole image in a distorted way.

This photo is effective because the man's face has been distorted in spirals. The simple grey colour of the man sets a good background while the five hexagons have twisted his features around giving the image an engaging an interesting effect. Different features are in different places creating a weird effect but also intriguing.

My Inspiration
"This turned into a fun project and the results were pretty interesting. The images of boiling water looked more like something from outer space. The trickiest part of photographing boiling water is getting a good focus, but once I got it figured out all that was left to do was click away." |
